Those of you who have been following us are familiar with our work towards creating an inspiring curriculum with a video library that showcases the vast capability of the instrument. Our portfolio consists not only of standard guitar repertoire but also classical works uniquely and faithfully arranged for solo guitar.
We’ve also made it our mission to provide a performance video along with each arrangement which gives you full transparency as to the quality and playability of each release. These videos are shared publicly on our YouTube channel and they’ve become a source of inspiration, education, and entertainment for guitar enthusiasts – so much so that our channel has taken on a life of its own. With your support and viewership, it has become one of the largest channels that focus on classical guitar repertoire.
It delights us to receive your feedback and comments about how these videos have drastically changed the way you think about the instrument and inspired you to pick up or get back to the instrument.
Your Requests:
Your feedback typically is accompanied by two specific requests:
1. More tutorials and educational tools: Those not enrolled in our online curriculum, have been consistently inquiring about tutorials and slow walkthrough videos for our arrangements.
2. More frequent releases: Others have been pleading for shorter lapses between the releases.
We’ve heard you loud and clear and have embarked upon preparing educational tools such as tutorials and slow walkthrough videos that demonstrate the special fingering sequences and innovative techniques that make these unique arrangements come to life on a solo guitar. Moreover, we have plans to include how-to videos for those interested in the arranging process itself. We’re also working towards increasing our upload frequency.
Unfortunately, the entire process is slow and painstaking. It can take upwards of many months for a single arrangement project to arrange and record. In addition, it takes our team to prepare and finalize the sheet music edition, the related tutorials, and walkthrough videos. The nature of what we do and our limited resources have created a large backlog of unique arrangements that are still in draft form. Each of these projects represents a labor of love for our small team of passionate musicians with no venture capital or marketing budgets.
Why contribute:
Our portfolio of arrangements is the engine behind the LAGA curriculum. They are at the center of our vision to expand the guitar repertoire and also generate the technical innovations that make it possible. As a result of your generous support, starting in May 2021, we are offering scholarship opportunities for beginning to intermediate-level students in need.
