Welcome to Level 4 of LAGA Classical, where you will continue ramping up your technique while expanding your repertoire with pieces not just from the standard classical repertoire but exciting folk tune arrangements and Latin American pieces. Before you dive into the repertoire practice, you will receive a thorough grounding in fundamental techniques which will give you confidence as you work toward the higher levels of classical guitar musicianship. Drills for glissandos, staccatos, bars, hinge bars, higher position notes, as well as jump drills and horizontal stretches will prepare you for the demanding repertoire of Level 4.

Please keep in mind that the technical topics we cover will not be limited to those in ‘Technical Essentials’ units in the beginning of each level. The lesson notes within the Repertoire Sets will also contain some critical technical advice and information.

Please continue to submit your videos for faculty review. By the end of Level 4, you will have submitted at least three pieces which demonstrate your command of the technical and musical skills that you have developed while working on Level 4.
